JOB SPECIFICATION for Senior Manager

County Roscommon Disability Support Group CLG (RSG) founded in 1989 is a voluntary organisation providing a comprehensive quality service to people with physical and sensory disabilities and older people. RSG is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager at its Headquarters in Derrane, Roscommon

Reporting to CEO and BOM

The person appointed will have a Business orientation to deliver Co Roscommon Disability Support Group`s brand and grow all aspects of the company business in the sector.

Provide effective management of clinical care and support services

Focus mainly on disability PA services in conjunction with the Care Team

Ensure financial controls, company accounts and budgetary measures are adhered to in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.

The role will have responsibility for the smooth running and maintenance of high standards across all services.


Proven track record in dealing people and client management

Excellent understanding of service delivery and clinical supervision

Knowledge and experience of the physical and sensory disability sector is desirable. Experience in dealing with statutory agencies and key stakeholders important

Knowledge and understanding of not for profit sector

Previous budgetary and financial management experience

Possess excellent managerial, leadership, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification with at least 3/5 years’ experience at management level, preferably in a social care setting.

Full clean driving licence and means of transport is essential for the position. Excellent IT Skills.

Position:                     Senior Manager

Hours:                         35 Hours per week;   Monday to Friday

Type of Contract:     Fixed Term Contract 

Salary:                         €42,000

Annual Leave:           Annual Leave entitlement will be 25 days per annum

Reports to:                 CEO & Board of Management

Job description

Provide leadership, supervision and support to the Care Co Ordinators and team in the provision of clinical care and support to disability services.

Provide assistance and support to the activities facilitator

Provide leadership and support to the Quality and Training Section.

Liaise with Management to develop and grow the business

Ensure adherence and compliance with HSE and other Grant providers and employment law.

Regular review of service delivery and identify potential issues to be addressed

Provide Staff Leadership, motivation and manage staff reporting to you.

Assist where appropriate with SLA s KPI s requirements of HSE.

Ensure value for money is achieved and financial reports are produced to Board of Management in a timely manner.

Ensure Health & Safety standards and Quality Assurance are complied with all aspects of the job both in terms of facilities and work practices.

Ensure full compliance with legislative and statutory requirements are met.

Participate in sub committees and fundraising activities as appropriate.

Maintain high professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics and legislation.

Ensure there is effective record keeping, monitoring, reviewing and reporting is in order to support the effective and orderly functioning of the company

Person specification

Have a good knowledge and understanding of the disability sector and healthcare support service provision.

A social background is desirable

Undertake development and management of services in line with regulatory requirements and best practice

Possess excellent managerial leadership, decision making, communication, accountability and interpersonal skills

Possess the capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role to ensure delivery of the organisation`s mission, vision and values.

Have a good understanding of financials and company accounts

A good knowledge of legislative and regulatory compliance is important

Specific Conditions

The contract will be a fixed Term Contract subject to ongoing funding

There will be a probationary period of 9 months with a review at 6 months

Garda Vetting which will be undertaken by RSG

A positive attitude towards working with people with disabilities is a pre-requisite.

Salary €42,000 per Annum, 35 hour week Monday to Friday

Annual Leave 25 days

Paid certified sick leave will be paid on the successful completion of probation.

Travel by car conducted while on business will be paid at HSE rates per km.
